Afghanistan Programs

What We Do:

My life is a living hell. If people find out you are LGBTQ, they will hand you over to the Taliban…Every day there are reports that the Taliban arrest and torture LGBTQ people, take their money, take their phones, and try to find and arrest other LGBTQ people
— Jemal, Afghanistan

From 2021-2023, the Aman project was one of the first responders to LGBTQ Afghans following the takeover of the Taliban, assisting over 100 Afghans with essential needs and helping successfully resettle over 55 people through refugee programs into safe countries where their rights are recognised.

From late 2023, the Afghan program is temporarily paused while we clear the backlog of our existing cases and reassess the situation. We will update here with any further news, so please keep checking back. Thank you!
